Be very careful when using or shopping with Baby’s Den. I made 1 purchase for a carseat and the store used my credit card number to duplicate the order on a different date. The only way I found out was when the second carseat arrived at my house. I have been working for weeks to resolve this with Igal Hatanian who I was told was the manager to no avail. First if you call the store, he is never there or available and the reps will just take messages. I even asked the best way to contact him and Jay, an employee told me that he only is reachable via email. Ok, so email here I go. First of all, he is very non-responsive with email. When he does respond, he is condescending and refuses to work things out. He told me that I should have notified him if I didn’t want the second carseat. That would have been great had I known another order was placed using my credit card. There was no email, no confirmation number or page, phone call, text, anything. The only way I found out was when the second car seat arrived and I checked my credit card statement and saw the second charge. I have been trying to send this carseat back to Igal for weeks now. He refuses to give me a shipping address and now is telling me that if it’s shipped back, I need to pay for shipping to ship it, and his shipping charges. He even said there were re-stocking fees but he would waive that. Gosh, thanks. For a purchase I didn’t make and a box I didn’t sign for, and has never been opened. It seems like a great way for this guy to sell extra items. He makes it very difficult or impossible to return an item. be very careful if you deal with this merchant. I am not sure how they are like in the retail store, but I would be very hesitant to give out my credit card number to them. If anything goes wrong, Igal is very difficult to reach and if you do get him via email, he is not reasonable. Again, this is their mistake and at this point I am willing to absord the shipping cost to send it back to them and that is not enough. Now they want to take advantage of me by charging me their shipping cost and not giving me an address to send the carseat to. I didn’t call my credit card company sooner because another employee in the store, Jay told me that once a credit card company is contacted then they will stop and do nothing to work things out with the customer. Well for weeks, I have been trying to work things out with then and have gotten no where. I have now called my credit card company and they said that this place has lots of negative marks. I know realize that Jay was giving me a scare tactic. These guys seem to know what their are doing with taking peoples credit card numbers and making unauthorized charges. My sense is that they have done this before based on my interaction with them. Keep in mind that I did authorize 1 transaction and have that carseat so I am a customer of theirs. This is the type of respect that you get for being a customer. I like to support small business and shop with them where I can, but this place is unethical. Stay away or be careful. I would hate for anyone else to go throught this and have the same level of interation with Igal as I did. There are many other wonderful vendors that sell baby or kids items and are not this shady.
