Complaint: I thought I was a valued Dobbs customer. Recently, I bought 2 new tires when I had a flat tire in front of a Dobbs Tire Center in Fenton, MO. I bought two new tires at that time. This past weekend I had another flat tire on one of the tires that were not replaced. I sought prices from Dobbs because I had just previously bought the other two tires and I wanted the new tires to match the tires already purchased. I received a quote for the new tires from Dobbs after I received a quote from a competitor. The Dobbs salesman (Bay) at the Chesterfield location stated if I provided a hand written document stating the price and services the competitor was providing, that Dobbs would honor the price of the competitor. Bay stated I could have the tires installed and later provide the document from the competitor. Before I purchased the tires from Dobbs, I returned to the competitor to get he hand written document describing the services and prices. The only reason I returned to Dobbs is because Dobbs had the tires in stock. When I provided the document to Bay at Dobbs, I was told the document I possessed was not good enough and that I would need to provide an invoice with the prices and services listed. I was not informed a invoice was necessary, all that Bay told me was to provide a handwritten document, which I did. The document was written on the back of the competitors business card. When I was told a handwritten invoice was needed, I became upset and responded by asking why this f#$cking document was not good enough, it was everything Bay stated to me that would be needed. I told Bay I was leaving and he told me to take my language with me. I returned to the competitor (Auto Tire) and bought the tires at a $45 savings to me. Russ Ballwin, MissouriU.S.A.
