Macy’s Pearland Texas Review

After looking for a long time we bought a 9 piece dining set and buffet from Macy’s department store. We have shopped with Macy’s for over 30 years and have bought furniture before as well. When we purchased it in March they said it was out of stock until June but they had the chairs in stock if we wanted them now. We said no we will wait for entire set. Sunddenly mid April the sales lady calls and says our furniture is available for delivery the following week. We arranged to delivery the following week. First they starting bringing in the chairs and we told the delivery guy “These chairs are stained.”” He looked at them and agreed but he said they will do an exchange and send you new ones.”” If only I knew then what I know now. I contacted my sales person and sent pictures to the site I was told and an exchange was set up for the following week. The new chairs are even worse than the first ones. Nice delivery guys say they will set up another exchange. I call the sales lady and send more pictures. She is very upset this has happened and assures me that they will make sure the next chairs are inspected and come from unopened boxes. Another week. Another attempted exchange. Same story. I tell her we just want to return the set. She gets the furniture manager involved. They assure me that someone will inspect thre chairs and they will do another exchange. After they took the first 2 chairs off the truck we took pictures and said don’t bother taking the rest off the truck. They were horrible. Sent the picture to the website. Talked to someone at customer service who said they would arrange to give me a refund and have the set picked up and I would hear in 48 hours. Instead I get an email the says “”An inpsector has come to my house and determined that the chairs do not have a manufactureing defect and no exchange is allowed.”” I call back and thell them no inspector has come to my house. She says “”oh we determined that from your pictures. We will do another exchange.”” I said no more exchanges. Obviously you don’t have any clean chairs or you would have sent them by now. She says they will send an inspector. I called my sales lady who said she was going to contact someone but I never heard anything more from her. The only other thing she could offer me was that a new set of chairs was coming in July and we could do an exchange then. Really? I don’t know if they came this way from the vendor or if they got stained while in Macy’s care. That really doesn’t matter to me. If I can’t get clean chairs they need to take them back and give me a refund. I’ve spent over $3

500 on this set. I can already see it coming. Inspector will say it’s not a manufacturing defect. Yeah it might not be. It might be Macy’s fault. But that will be Macy’s excuse not to give me a refund. I just can’t believe Macy’s does business like this.”
