My story of Sear Citi Bank credit card. I went to Sears a few years ago to buy a remote garage door opener. At checkout they said, open a Sears credit card and you can take 10% off this purchase. I agreed and had no plan to use the card when I got it. The card was mailed to me and I never activated it. I cut it up and threw it in the trash. One year ago I moved into a new house. I needed a bed and went to Sears Outlet to buy one. While I was there I saw a small dishwasher I wanted. I purchased both and went to checkout and attempted to pay with my debit card. The cashier said she tried several time and the card would not go thru. The items were already loaded in my truck and she suggested I open as Searsu2019s credit card. I told her I had one that I had never used and destroyed the card. She took my drivers license (that had my new address) and processed the card. She told me I would get a new card and the bill in the mail.As time passed and working on the move to a new house IU had forgotten all about this. Fast forward one year later. My brother calls me, to tell me there is a credit agency looking for me. I call them and it is over this SEARS CITIBANK credit card. Now I owe all the interest and penalties. They take all my information, name, address, phone #, employer, ECT. The address they have is my last address. So everything went to that address, the card and all the bills. It was never updated when I made the new purchases. I also think the fact that my debit card would not go thru has a ploy to get me to apply for a credit card, and a few extra dollars went into the salesperson pocket. Once I became aware of this issue I paid it off in full and had the money to so at anytime. Part of this is my fault for not remembering this transaction. But I feel they did not do their part, when they were given updated information and did not put it into the system. So once again the big corporation gets over and the little guy has to suffer with, now and bad credit rating, never mind what this will do to my security sensitive job. Thanks SEARS AND CITIBANK!
