Complaint: I bought my car new in 1988. It is a Mazda 626 Turbo Touring Sedan. I had never worked on the car. On 8/26/93 I had brought my car to Start Mart to have the alternator rebuilt. They removed and reinstalled what I thought was my original alternator, I never questioned it. On 9/21/95 I brought my car back to Start Mart to have the alternator rebuilt again. They removed and reinstalled it again with what I thought was my original Mazda alternator. On 12/2/02 I removed the alternator myself and brought it to Start Mart for rebuilding. I returned after a few hours and the mechanic said that I have the wrong alternator for my car. He wanted me to bring my car to the shop so he could see it. How? Dead battery and no alternator. He showed me the Nissan stamp on the back of my alternator and said that it couldn’t possibly work in my Mazda. I know I took that very alternator out of my car. I had them rebuild it. I reinstalled the alternator in my car and started the engine. It whined and smoked. Now I want an original Mazda alternator or an alternator that was made for my car. No one at Start Mart returns my calls. Rob the Washington State Customer Service Representative doesn’t return my calls. He can be reached at 253 272 2115 or 425 742 4739. The Start Mart where I had the alternator rebuilt at in South Seattle refuses to provide me with an alternator that is made for my car. These people are scam artists!.
