U-Haul tempe Arizona

Complaint: We rented a moving truck from this location for a day. We returned it to the U-Haul office after hours later that day, so we left the truck in the back under the covered return space and dropped the keys in the drop box like we were instructed. A day or two later we recieved a call from one of the employees accusing us of stealing the truck. They said that they could not find the truck, but added that the keys were found in the drop box. We immediately notified the police and made a report that the truck was stolen. There were two other witnesses that the truck was left where it was supposed to be returned and that the keys were dropped off. We also have recorded statements from the police department of the entire report. About three months later we suddenly find $1,400 missing from our bank account withdrawn by U-Haul. We call to see why they charged us the amount and the manager there said that they found the missing truck with manage. Even if the truck was damaged or stolen, we bought the insurance they offered that does not hold us liable for any manage or theft to the vehicle. We have copies of reciepts, documentation of conversations with U-Haul, and police reports on this matter. We asked that the money be returned to the account but the manager refused. He also wanted to meet my wife in person to discuss the matter, and set up an appointment. When we both showed up, he was nowhere to be found. We waited for over half an hour. On our way back home I decided to call and ask for ryan (the manager). To my surprise he was there. He was extremely rude and said “I was going to put the money back in the account

He later said that he will meet with her the following day to discuss matters further. We tryed talking to the manager at the headquarters office here. We called about four times trying to get a hold of him and our calls were forwarded to the manager where the incident happened every time. When Ryan Pursi (the manager at the Dunlap office) heard that we were talking to higher authorites in his company he became furious. Headquarters did not even know the truck was reported missing. He was hiding the fact that is was stolen from them. The last time my wife talked to Ryan
