Vestel Logistics Co New York New York

Complaint: I applied for a job as a Project Manager from a repitutable job board. I was sent an email from the “employer”” that they would like to proceed with next steps. I got an application/questionnaire to fill out – which was pretty standard – asking interview type questions. Then I got a phone interview and was told that they would like me to start training. Training consisted of 3-4 weeks of studying and tests. You get a study guide daily and on Fridays

Address: in addition to the study guide you also get a test that covers the materials for that week. You get paid $2000 at the end for your time and if you test scores are high then you get to participate in part-time work to increase your earnings for training to approx. $4000. There is a company website and all seems legitimate – untill they approach you for the part-time work. This is where the scam starts – they tell you that they are opening another office in Europe and need assistance finding computer supplies for the office. They want to give you an account to take the funds from and put into your credit card or bank account. You find and locate the items requested and ship to the office in Europe. I am sure the initial funds are stolen and you are then out your money and in debt for all the items purchase and shipped. i think it is horrible that people are trying to exploit individuals that are looking for work and some people could be out of work for months at a time and don’t have money in their accounts to lose this kind of money. Please get the word out. I didn’t fall for the scam but they did manage to get my address and birthdate from the initial form that I had to fill out to apply. I didn’t give them anything else and I already monitor my accounts montly through a credit report agency. Some people not as savvy could definitely fall for this as it’s very elaborate. I have all documents and corresponse from them. I also thought it was a scam fairly early on but didn’t know for sure until the 3rd week when I was approached for part-time work. I called the skyscrapper building that they list as their address and spoke to the person who rents all office space and she didn’t have them as a company. I also receieved a phone call – supposedly from their main office in Coppenhagan but it was at 4:30 PST and I believe that would make it about 1:30m or so in Coppenhagen.”
