Complaint: I purchased 2 scooters with cash in full in June 2004 from Guy Standing the owner of Xtreme Motor toys In Murray Utah. My scooter has never run right since it’s purchase. Guy was more concerned with making the sale than keeping a happy customer. By/due to his actions I have contacted KUTV/Bill Gephardt and I am making sure per word of mouth and through the Media I let others know of what I experienced/experiencing and hopefully they will not be swindled as I was by this salesman. I Have taken my scooter into the shop for repairs more than I have used it since I have had it. 2 weeks ago I took in the scooter and the mechanic for Guy took it for a test drive and said he felt the same problems I feel while using the scooter so he made a carburetor adjustment and put on a new muffler which took the scooter from the 40 mph which it went to 15mph and I also never gave Guy permission to alter my scooter. I asked to have the muffler removed and the problem fixed. I took my scooter home after 2 weeks and still the same problem if not worse…now going on another week of Guy having the scooter I paid in full, he tells me that they need to order more parts to try to fix the problem which will mean the scooter remains in his shop for at least another 2 weeks.. needless to say I am very unhappy so while it is still under warranty I asked guy for a full refund due to his selling me defective merchandise and he refused to honor my request and the warranty. I told him that it was spending more time in the shop than on the road and that I am not happy with it and I know the warranty is going to run out (which is what Guy is banking on) and after that I cant afford to pour money into it, I told him it was a defective bike and I don’t want the headache of it any longer. I told him it has been in his shop for the last 3 weeks, he said it has only been there 4 or 5 days and he wanted to argue with me even though I have witnesses who can testify in court when or if it comes to that about the length of time Guy has had my scooter over the amount of time I have had it . he said he wont refund the money, but he will call the manufacturer, which of course I do not want another scooter from a manufacturer whom I already do not trust to make quality merchandise… I should have known since The day I purchased my scooter there were at least 2 people who came in with engine problems…Guy asked myself and a friend to ride in the fourth of July parade where even the brand new scooter he was on broke down in the parade as well as did a motorized skateboard break down in the parade, which proves his merchandise is defective and he knows this. I expect a full refund based on the fact he sold me defective merchandise. ..Please beware doing business with him. Spend more money and get quality workmanship and professionalism by purchasing your scooter else where. Don’t make the same mistakes I did. I now have to fight to get what any consumer deserves.. money back on defective merchandise, instead of enjoying my summer on a scooter which has now been in his store more than on the road..do not buy from Xtreme Motor Toys in Murray utah !!
